Novamedia has initiated and established the inaugural residency program for Australian media artists at Ars Electronica's laboratory for future innovations—FutureLab.
Ars Electronica is the most influential international forum for media art, now into its 30th year.
The residency was developed with funding from Arts Victoria (International), and realised in partnership with Ars Electronica and Australia Council for the Arts.
Artists:
• MATTHEW GARDINER (VIC) 'to investigate the interactive aesthetic of folding/origami technology and to research electronic paper technology'
• LEON CMIELEWSKI/JOSEPHINE STARRS (NSW) 'to create a media art installation that explores the effects of global warming in the Southern hemisphere'
• ADAM NASH (with John McCormick) (VIC) 'to collaborate on generating an audience-activated audiovisual agents in evolving environments such as Second Life'
